The Trap Turner Story

After requests from numerous customers, we began searching for a better way to open grain trailer hopper gates. Our customers have reported everything from shoulder and back strain to hernia injuries associated with manually cranking grain trailer traps. In order to reduce operator exposure, we needed a tool that possessed the following qualities: no torque transferred to the operator, non-impacting/quiet operation, lightweight and ergonomic. After sending various prototypes to several customers in the field, the Trap Turner was born.
After more than 18 months of field trials, Mustang Equipment developed the industry’s only handheld opener that prevents torque from transferring back to the operator. Now when truck #300 rolls over your dump pit at 8:00 at night, it is opened with the same ease as #1 opened at the start of the day.
